The Ethnic Affairs Commission of Gansu Province completed a general survey of the culture and languages of the Dongxiang, Baoan, and Guyu ethnic minorities. The three languages, which are bordering on extinction and lack writing systems, have been collected and preserved in digital files. Through field surveys and face-to-face interviews, researchers recorded folklores, fables, proverbs and nursery rhythms in audio and visual formats. Notably, researchers generated 30 videos capturing the culture and language of the Dongxiang ethnic minority after compiling questionnaires, forms, and audio and visual materials collected during the survey.
